What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a short distance wireless technology which uses the 2.4 GHz frequency spectrum. The technology was developed by the Bluetooth SIG, which includes such companies as IBM, Microsoft, and Motorola. The application of this technology ranges from wireless keyboards to printers, headsets, and many other wireless products.

Which Bluetooth profiles do Lubix headsets support?

Lubix headsets support Bluetooth 2.0 and thus are compatible with other devices supporting Bluetooth 2.0 or older. The profiles our headsets support are: Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), Headset Profile (HSP), Handsfree Profile (HFP), and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP).

What kinds of devices can I pair my Lubix headset with?

You should be able to pair your Lubix headset with any Bluetooth host that is able to make use of headphones or a headset, and which supports one of the supported profiles: HSP, HFP, or A2DP. Examples include mobile phones, Bluetooth-equipped music players, notebook computers, some PDAs, and Bluetooth audio adaptors. Note that you cannot pair the headset with another headset, even though both support the required profiles.

Can I pair my Lubix headset with more than one host device at a time?

You can pair your Lubix headset with two different host devices at the same time. For example, a notebook computer and a mobile phone. The host devices must be of different types, so you can't pair your headset with, for example, two mobile phones at the same time.

Can I store music files in my Lubix headset?

No. Lubix headsets do not contain memory for storage. You can listen to music on your headset only in conjunction with a music playing device, such as an MP3 phone.

Why doesn't my headset turn on?

Probably the battery has been run down. Please charge it and try again.

Why do I have to recharge the battery more often than in the past?

All lithium-based rechargeable batteries lose capacity over time and eventually require more frequent charging than when they were new. This is an intrinsic characteristic of lithium batteries. You can prolong the battery's useful life by charging it often, not letting it run down completely, and keeping it out of high-temperature environments as much as possible.

Is the headset's battery replaceable?

No. Please do not to attempt to open the headset or replace its battery. If you suspect the battery is defective, please contact customer support.

Why does the audio sometimes cut out or become interrupted?

Probably one of two reasons: either you are too far away from the Bluetooth host device, or there is interference from other wireless devices using the same or overlapping radio frequencies. Under ideal conditions (line of sight visibility, no intervening walls, etc.), Bluetooth's wireless range is about 10 meters (33 feet). Physical objects in the transmission path -- including even your own body -- will reduce the range considerably. Also, if the environment includes other wireless devices sharing Bluetooth's 2.4 GHz spectrum, such as WiFi networking gear or cordless phones, the audio signal to your headset can be interrupted from time to time.

My headset stopped working, even though the battery is not empty. What can I do?

Bluetooth devices can sometimes stop communicating with each other for various reasons. If this happens, turning the headset and/or its host device off and then on again will often solve the problem.
